A new pizza-pasta place has joined the competitive lunchtime mix in Hauppauge's industrial section.
Rigatoni’s Pizza and Pasta, which opened about three weeks ago, features pizza by the slice and by the pie, as well as a roster of pastas. Chef-owner and pizza maker Kyle Markott owned the former Gio’s, an Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Miller Place. He offers such items as a Caesar salad pizza ($18 round; $19 Sicilian), a grandma pie ($16) and a Margherita pie ($17 round, $19 Sicilian). Slices run $2.25 to $4.50.
Pasta options include fettuccine Bolognese ($11), penne a la vodka ($11.95) and rigatoni with broccoli rabe and sausage ($14.95). Forget formality; plastic dinnerware is the rule here.
The place is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and has seating for about 60.
Rigatoni's Pizza & Pasta is at 160 Adams Ave., Hauppauge, 631-524-5454.
