Just as Hamptons Restaurant Week is drawing to a close, Page at 63 Main restaurant in Sag Harbor is hosting “Little Foodies,” a free children’s event on Saturday, March 28. Page at 63 Main bills itself as “seed-to-table” because some of its produce is grown right in the restaurant’s aquaponic gardens (soilless gardens whose plants grow in a nutrient-rich fluid).

The Little Foodies will be introduced to aquaponic agriculture, and chef James Carpenter will give a cooking demonstration (with samples). A nutritionist from the Cornell Cooperative Extension will also be on hand to discuss childhood obesity and how to combat it with healthy food choices.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 28 at Page 63 on Main, 63 Main St., Sag Harbor, 631-725-1810, page63main.com.
