Snaps American Bistro
New look, new menu in Wantagh. Two months ago, chef-owner Scott Bradley completely redecorated his 6-year-old restaurant, Snaps, and rechristened it Snaps American Bistro. Now he has revamped the menu, becoming the third Long Island restaurant this week to downscale. (Honu in Huntington just abandoned its small plates in favor of a more streamlined approach; Mineola’s Maxxels reopened with a simpler, more affordable menu.)
Bradley says his entree prices have dropped, on average, about $5. Gone are his fanciful quail and rabbit preparations. Hello, chicken Milanese and grilled hanger steak with creamed spinach. Such beloved appetizers as short-rib-and-blue-cheese quesadilla and lobster-knuckle sandwich (with truffle oil and sunny-side-up egg) are now joined by spicy chicken wings.
Bradley is still offering tasting menus: 6 courses for $30 per person, 8 course for $40, 10 courses for $50.
Snaps American Bistro is at 2010 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, 516-221-0029
