If you find yourself in St. James tomorrow around midday, there’s a new lunchtime option: Starting August 17, Kitchen A Trattoria will be open for lunch.

The menu looks just as enticing and well-priced as the St. James favorite’s dinner menu. Antipasti, among them shaved fennel and mushrooms Parmesan; meatballs over polenta; and panini—how good does porchetta with arugula pesto sound?—are $9. Mains are $12 and include bucatini carbonara, spaghetti all’Amatriciana and local fluke with spinach and roasted tomatoes.

As at dinner, the restaurant accepts no reservations, but until lunch catches on—as it undoubtedly will—you should be able to snag a table.

Kitchen A Trattoria is at 532 N. Country Rd., St. James, 631-862-0151.
