Street to Table’s mac and cheese is an Island classic. Lucky for Huntington-area locals, the Merrick bar and restaurant, which pays tribute to globally inspired snacks and street foods, has expanded to Huntington Station joining Paris Baguette, Just Salad, Burger Village, and Häagen-Dazs in the new Whole Foods shopping center.

Opened in Merrick in 2019, both Street to Table locations offer a playful slate of sandwiches, burgers, tacos and salads, and cocktails served in juice pouches against the backdrop of a graffiti-themed vibe. Start with Dorito or Flamin’ Cheetos fried mozzarella triangles (deceptively delicious, $14.99), crispy chicken fingers (made from thigh meat), loaded nachos, tandoori wings ($16.99) and elote, or cheesy Mexican street corn ($9.99). Move on to quesadillas, ramen stir fry ($15.99), tostada bowls or a Texas toast grilled cheese with tomato and bacon ($17.99) that can be transformed into a patty melt with the addition of a 6-ounce burger.

There’s a spicy Nashville hot chicken ($19.99) and a chicken and waffle sandwich ($21.99), burgers like "the surf and turf” feature creamy lobster atop a beef patty ($27.99), plus a Philly cheesesteak ($21.99) and a BBQ pulled pork sandwich ($19.99). Tacos are three to an order and range from Thai chili shrimp to birria ($22.99), salads from street taco ($17.99) to arugula and apple ($18.99).

About that mac and cheese: The award-winning pulled pork mac and cheese ($25.99) won top billing at New York’s first Mac & Cheese Festival in 2022, with a base blend of Monterey Jack, yellow Cheddar, Swiss and Parm. The mac also comes atop a burger, but the must-eat versions are the decadent mac balls, which are flash-frozen, then fried, and topped with house-made jalapeño Cheddar cheese sauce ($14.99).

When East Meadow native and owner Tejan Arora opened in Merrick, it was as a small neighborhood spot. “We’re more accessible now here, than we are in Merrick — we still have it, but we outgrew it — and wanted to share our food with the rest of Long Island.” He calls the expansion to Huntington Station a “logical next step,” and credits the “renovation of the area, the new Whole Foods shopping center, and being close to all these great towns like Melville, Syosset, Woodbury, Dix Hills, Huntington, Farmingdale.”

Another difference from Merrick? “We’re going to have a few healthier options here, because we now have the kitchen to do it,” Arora said.

Great for families, and an easy meeting spot for drinks with friends, the tricked-out, 2,800-square-foot space is much larger than its South Shore sibling, but bears similar black walls, neon-accented graffiti, high ceilings, video games and black metal tables and chairs. From a large L-shaped bar those aforementioned margarita and mojito pouches get filled (and refilled), plus boozy iced coffees, blue whiskey lemonades and peach fuzz mimosas are on offer. Drinks run from $13.99 to $15.99.
