Thai restaurant Bangkok Pavilion closes in Kings Park

Bangkok Pavilion, Kings Park: This spot is the latest in a line of Thai restaurants to launch and then shutter in an oddly shaped corner spot on Main Street. The restaurant succeeded Sarin Thai, Siam Thai and Chaophaya. Before that, the site hosted a string of other dining spots, the most memorable (and long-lived) being American Bistro, which was owned by cookbook author and TV chef George Hirsch during the early-to-mid-1990s. Bangkok Pavilion in Kings Park is the latest in a line of Thai restaurants to launch and then shutter in an oddly shaped corner spot on Main Street. The restaurant succeeded Sarin Thai (a short-lived spinoff of the still-open Greenvale original), Siam Thai and Chaophaya. Before that, the site hosted a string of other dining spots, the most memorable (and long-lived) being American Bistro, which was owned by cookbook author and TV chef George Hirsch during the early-to-mid-1990s.
Shortly after opening in 2013, Bangkok Pavilion received a two-star review for such dishes as pad see ew (flat rice noodles with broccoli and egg), drunken noodles, basil chicken and crispy Bangkok duck.
