That Meetball Place (yes, the spelling is correct) just rolled onto the Patchogue dining scene, taking up residence where the former Pura Vida Burrito Co. used to be.

According to general manager Jamie Selkirk, you will find 14 beers on tap and 30 to 40 in bottles. There’s also live music and eight TVs.

But the star, here, is the meatball — in many permutations, not all of which contain meat.

Chef John Hesse, who previously cooked at the former Jack Bistro in Manhattan, said the classic beef, pork and veal meatball may be had with a variety of sauces (among them pancetta cream, spicy marinara and cool tzatziki) and in a number of styles — in a bowl ($9), as a slider ($3) and over pasta ($14).

Also on the menu are gluten-free chicken meatballs, vegetarian risotto balls with broccoli rabe and fresh mozzarella, and a gluten-free vegan ball made with rice, lentils and vegetables. There are also seafood balls ($12 in a bowl) and a variety of meatball specials, salads and soups.

That Meetball Place is at 54 W. Main St., Patchogue, 631-569-5888.
