Umberto’s, the legendary pizzeria founded in 1965 in New Hyde Park by brothers Umberto and Joe Corteo, has opened a location in Plainview, in the same shopping center as Fairway. The restaurant, which takes over the location of Caruso’s Pizza, opened on July 5 and has both a takeout operation and a dining room. On the menu: pizza, pasta, pannini, salads, soups, heros and Italian specialties.

That makes five locations of Umberto’s: the original in New Hyde Park, Wantagh, Garden City, Bellmore and Plainview. (The Umberto’s at 737 West Jericho Tpke. in Huntington is not affiliated with the group.)

Umberto’s is at 64 Manetto Hill Mall, Plainview, 516-433-4999.
