Williston Park: Hildebrandt's still batting 1000

Is there anything Hildebrandt’s doesn’t do well? It goes without saying that the vintage parlour serves terrific ice cream. The French fries are among Long Island’s best. The pastas, particularly the rigatoni a la mama (a very Sicilian combination of cauliflower, bread crumbs, olive oil and pecorino) would be a happy addition to any local Italian restaurant’s repertoire.
This morning I found myself at Hildebrandt’s when it opened at 11 a.m. I hadn’t had any breakfast but it was too early for lunch. So I ordered this slice of spinach quiche. Guess what? It was delicious.
