Williston Park: Willy Parkers redux
Willy Parkers American Bar & Grill, closed for almost a year, is alive and kicking once again.
The place recently reopened under the ownership of Louis and Rino Di Maria, who also own Joanne's Gourmet Pizza in Roslyn. Like the restaurant's previous owners, the brothers grew up in Williston Park.
Commanding the kitchen is Franco Pollini III, who cooked at Riverbay in Williston Park and Bordeaux in Rockville Centre. His menu features pub classics (wings, burgers, sliders, wraps), pastas (lasagna, rigatoni Bolognese) and New American dishes (tuna tataki, pan roasted free range half chicken).
In terms of decor, the bar area is basically unchanged. Catch a sporting event on any of the 16 flat screen TVs. Elsewhere in the restaurant, however, booths have been replaced by tables. A party room offers catering for up to 75.
At the moment, the restaurant is serving dinner only, but lunch and brunch are being planned. A $24 prix-fixe is available Monday to Thursday nights.
Willy Parkers American Bar & Grill is at 71 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, 516-750-8125, willyparkers.com.
