
Wine & cheese at La Tavola: Sustainable in Sayville

Sunday is Earth Day and La Tavola is celebrating with a wine-and-cheese tasting organized by Erin Nicosia, proprietor of Sayville’s own American Cheese shop.
The event starts at 3 p.m. and will feature four pairings of organic California wines with farmstead, artisanal cheeses:
Girasole Chardonnay with
Sunlight, from Haystack Mountain Creamery, Colorado
Ventana Pinot Noir with
Lambchopper, from Cypress Grove Creamery, California
Barra Family Vineyards Petite Sirah with
Cabot Clothbound, from The Cellars at Jasper Hill, Vermont
Burch Hall Les Petites Vendages Cabernet Sauvignon paired with
Green Peppercorn Goat, from Coach Farm, New York
“An Afternoon of Wine and Cheese” costs $36 per person. If you stay for dinner at La Tavola, you’ll get 25 percent off both the tasting and your dinner bill.
