Woodbury: Beefing up The Delano

The Delano Mansion, which was expected to become a tapas-themed restaurant this year, has shelved that idea and is going the steakhouse route, according to general manager Joseph Scalice.

The handsome eatery on the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course closed on Saturday. The scheduled opening date for The Delano Steakhouse is Jan. 14. The new menu will emphasize steaks, from porterhouse and bone-in rib to filet mignon and New York strip steak; and updates on classic side dishes, including Parmesan creamed spinach and truffled cream corn. But the restaurant also plans to offer a series of  "composed plates," such as herb-basted chicken and grilled and maple-cured Kurobuta pork chops, which include vegetables.
