Woodbury: It’s the little things
Pardon me while I micro-analyze my lunch yesterday at Sage Bistro Moderne in Woodbury.
I was so happy with my shrimp-asparagus-leek-filled crepe, a thin, eggy pancake package. The shrimp and asparagus were both cooked perfectly and, what’s more, they were cut perfectly. The half-inch segments meant that you could get a forkful of everything in one bite.
The salad, well… You may be tired of hearing about my disdain for sweetened vinaigrettes and toss-it-yourself salads, but here I go again. Chefs: when the waiter describes the dressing as a mustard vinaigrette, the diner is not expecting something sweet. That’s why she didn’t order the balsamic vinaigrette.
And one other nit to pick. The ladies’ room was devoid of toilet paper. I went into the men’s room to snag a roll, which meant that now the men’s room was devoid of toilet paper. But since all Sage Bistro’s lunchtime dining-room staff was male, they probably discovered this sooner rather than later.
