Consumer Action Handbook's 2015 edition now available
The Consumer Action Handbook, one of the most popular free publications offered by the federal government, is available in an updated 2015 edition.
The 148-page handbook has tips and advice for all consumers, but it is especially helpful for older adults. Among the subjects covered are choosing a doctor and health care facility, food and nutrition, prescription drugs, Medicare, mobile banking, retirement planning and advance medical directives. There are also sections on how to file a complaint with the proper authorities and a consumer assistance directory with hundreds of listings of corporate offices, consumer organizations, trade groups and government agencies.
