Enter your photos in maritime photography contest

You live on an island, so your digital photo collection may well contain a maritime-related shot. But is it an award winner?

Find out by entering the Photography Club of Long Island's maritime photography contest. The juried competition will pick the best maritime shot -- think beaches, boats, people, seascapes, lighthouses -- and the best-in-show winner gets $250. Three more finalists will collect smaller cash prizes.

The finalists will have their photos displayed at the American Merchant Marine Museum in Kings Point.

Submit up to three images for the entry fee of $25. Deadline to enter your photo is Sept. 10. Any entry must have been taken after Dec. 31, 2009.
