Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis were a team for 10 years before their breakup in 1956, but their influence spanned the rest of the 20th century, and their movies and TV appearances are still fondly remembered.

A free retrospective at Long Beach Library looks at the team's skyrocket to fame through film clips and videos. Among the highlights: Several clips of Martin and Lewis' groundbreaking appearances on "The Colgate Comedy Hour" in the 1950s.

The retrospective is presented by Jack Schnur, a CBS videotape editor for 30 years. Schnur edited the presentation, which includes interviews with Martin and Lewis and appreciations from several comics, including Billy Crystal and Dick Van Dyke. The retrospective is next Saturday at 2 p.m. For more information, call 516-432-7201 or go to longbeachlibrary.org.
