Cool spring weather Sunday and Monday will give way to a chance for showers for the rest of this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday's high will be in the mid- to upper 50s, with lows in the mid-40s, said Lauren Nash, meteorologist with the service's Upton bureau. Monday will be similar, with highs a degree or two higher than Sunday, Nash said. Lows on Monday will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

An unsettled weather pattern will come in Tuesday, lingering through Friday, Nash said. While Tuesday's highs will be in the mid-60s, Tuesday night brings a chance of rain showers. Lows on Tuesday night will be in the low 50s.

Wednesday will be similar to Tuesday, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the low 50s -- again, with a chance of showers.

A brief warming trend will begin on Thursday, Nash said, with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the low 50s. Friday will see highs around 70, with temperatures lower in the coastal areas.
