A Shirley man faces multiple charges after he stabbed another man at Adventureland Amusement Park on Sunday, leaving him in critical condition, Suffolk police said.

A dispute involving several people erupted at 4:50 p.m. at the East Farmingdale amusement park when Daniel Tomasky, of Shirley, stabbed a 47-year-old Edgewater, Florida, man in the abdomen with a knife, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was in critical condition, police said.

The two men knew each other, and at least one child was present at the time of the stabbing, police said.

Tomasky, 42, was charged with first- and second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.

Mark Smith, a spokesman for the park, said police had completed their investigation by 8:30 p.m. The park was operating normally, he said.
