A Bay Shore man was arrested Friday in the fatal March 31 shooting of a Northwell Health employee in New Hyde Park, Nassau police said.

Quay-Sean Renard Hines, 30, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Amelia Laguerre, 33, of St. Albans, Queens, police said.

Laguerre was shot "in excess of five" times by someone who was waiting for her in the parking garage of a company medical building where she and other employees were taking a break, Nassau police Det. Capt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said on April 1.

She had worked at Northwell Health for 10 years.

“We appreciate the officers of the Nassau County Police Department and are relieved by news of an arrest in the murder of Amelia Laguerre," said Joe Kemp, a Northwell Health spokesman, in a statement. "Northwell is still mourning the loss of Amelia by this senseless act of violence and we will continue to offer counseling services to team members in need.

Nassau police declined to provide more information on the arrest or any past connection between Hines and Laguerre.

Laguerre's mother, Emily Laguerre Bennett, declined to comment Friday night.

At the time of her daughter's death, Laguerre Bennett said Amelia was "a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful person. Loving, she’s kind, she would help anybody in the world."

Hines will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead. It was unclear if he has an attorney.
