Bolla Market in Calverton robbed at gunpoint, Riverhead police say
An armed man, dressed in dark clothing, robbed a gas station convenience store late Monday night in Calverton, police said.
A search that included a canine team failed to locate the suspect, who is still being sought, Riverhead Town police said.
Police said the robbery at the Bolla Market at the Mobil gas station on Middle Country Road occurred just after 10 p.m. The suspect, wearing dark clothing and brandishing a handgun, entered the store and demanded cash. The attendant handed over an undisclosed amount of money. The robber fled.
A search involving a Riverhead police canine unit and State Police failed to locate the suspect. Police are now asking anyone with information about the robbery to call detectives at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
