The Suffolk County police said they are searching for whoever shot and wounded two people late Sunday in Copiague.

About 10 p.m., two groups became involved in a dispute in front of a Remsen Street residence when someone opened fire, hitting a 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man.

The shooter fled the scene on foot, police said.

The victims were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
