A Hicksville woman has been charged with selling drugs from her home, located about 100 feet from an elementary school, Nassau County police said on Monday.

Teadekera Yarborough, 31, of Clarissa Drive, was arrested Sunday at 7:43 p.m. by members of a joint Nassau and Suffolk heroin task force, who searched the house after receiving complaints from neighbors about drug sales at the residence, police said.

The home is around the block from the Old Country Road Elementary School.

Police said they found 9.8 grams of cocaine, 5.7 grams of heroin and “several hundred small zip lock bags commonly used to package narcotics” during their search.

Yarborough is being charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance near a school, three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

She was arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead. Bail was set at $40,000 cash or bond. It was not immediately posted, online court records show.

Calls to a number listed for Yarborough went unanswered Monday night.
