Man used fake ID to get Neiman Marcus card, charged $2G, cops say

A Brooklyn man used fake identification to open a Neiman Marcus credit card account and then tried to flee store security after charging more than $2,000 in merchandise at the store in the Roosevelt Field mall, Nassau police said Thursday.
Kyle Brown, 27, of Ten Eyck Street, showed a fake driver’s license from Hawaii and fake credit card when he opened the account Wednesday evening, police said.
After he put about $2,225 on the new account, he was apprehended by security personnel, police said. He ran from the store and into the mall, damaging a door.
He was then arrested at about 6:45 p.m. after “a brief foot pursuit,” police said. He also had more fraudulent identification on him when he was arrested, police said.
Brown is charged with six counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, second-degree forgery, first-degree identity theft, fourth-degree grand larceny, criminal mischief and unlawful possession of personal identification information, police said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
