A Ridge man who burglarized a Wading River farm stand Wednesday morning was caught by the owner and held for police, officials said.

David W. Liss, 43, was charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property and was awaiting arraignment, Riverhead Town police said.

The owner of Fink’s Country Farm Stand on Middle Country Road went to the property after getting a report from the alarm company, which also called the police department about 4 a.m., police said.

The owner’s wife later called police and said her husband was detaining a man he found at the farm stand, police said. Responding officers arrested Liss, police said.
