Justin Criscione, of Farmingville, faces weapons charge after dirt bike crashes into car
A Farmingville man was arrested on a weapons charge after he was allegedly found in possession of a handgun following a dirt bike crash that left him seriously injured in Medford, Suffolk police said.
Justin Criscione, 24, was riding an unregistered 2007 Honda CRF 150R dirt bike eas on Horseblock Road without lights, when he crashed into the front passenger side of a westbound 2014 BMW making a left out of a Conoco gas station at about 8:30 p.m., according to police.
A patrol officer rendering aid to Criscione observed and recovered a loaded Glock from his pocket, police said.
Criscione was placed into custody by Fifth Squad detectives and transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by Medford Ambulance.
He is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and seven counts of second-degree criminal contempt and will be arraigned at a later date, police said.
The driver of the BMW was not injured, according to police.
