Suffolk police said they are searching for a man who robbed a pharmacy Monday inside an East Northport Stop & Shop.

At 12:30 p.m., according to police, the suspect entered the store on Fort Salonga Road, went to the pharmacy's counter, and gave an employee a note stating he had a weapon and demanding prescription medication.

The employee, police said, complied and the man fled the store. He was described as in his mid-to-late 30s, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-8 inches tall, and heavyset. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a dark-colored shirt, jeans and white sneakers.

Police declined to say what medication was stolen.

Suffolk detectives ask anyone with information to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
