The newest murder charge against Rex Heuermann, the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, is in connection with the 2000 slaying of Valerie Mack.

"Your honor, I am not guilty of any of these charges," Rex A. Heuermann said when asked to enter a plea — leading to a loud sigh from the packed courtroom — his first words to the court since his initial arraignment in 2023.
