Great Neck man accused of stabbing stepson-in-law, cops say

A Great Neck man who stabbed a family member during an argument Tuesday faces assault and weapons charges, Nassau County police said.

Yong Lin, 60, of Tuddington Road, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead on charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon, Third Squad detectives said.

Lin and his stepson-in-law were arguing at about 7:30 p.m. at Lin’s house when Lin grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to stab him, police said.

The victim, 33, put up his hands and sustained a laceration to his hand. Lin then continued stabbing at the victim, including wounding him once in the torso, police said.

The victim had non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition; he was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, police said.

Police said Lin was arrested in front of his house.
