Police seek package-snatching robber in Great Neck
The driver of a blue-green Chevrolet pickup truck stole a package from the porch of a Great Neck home on Jan. 24, Nassau County police said in asking for the public’s help to find him.
The suspect stopped his Avalanche in front of a Moreland Court home at 12:15 p.m., took the box and drove off, police said. He had dark brown hair and a medium build and wore dark pants and a beige sweatshirt, police said.
Investigators released a photo of the four-door pickup, which has a covered bed.
It appears similar to the pickup truck in a home surveillance video that shows the driver snatching a large package from the porch of a Fairview Avenue residence in Great Neck at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 29. According to police, that box contained a $400 saw.
Information on whether the two cases are connected was not available Thursday night.
Third Precinct detectives ask anyone with information on either case to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
