PATCHOGUE/Arrest in bouncer's stabbing
A man was under arrest Monday after police said he stabbed a bouncer in the back outside a bar in Patchogue. The bouncer suffered what police called "non-life-threatening" injuries.
The incident happened at 2:50 a.m. outside Pueblo Viejo on East Main Street, Suffolk County police said.
Police said the bouncer, identified as Hadyetou Diaby, 27, escorted "an intoxicated man" out of the bar -- but the man's friend, identified by police as Marcelino Benavides-Bonilla, 50, of West 1st Street, Patchogue, then stabbed him.
Diaby was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue. His condition was unknown, but police said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Benavides-Bonilla was charged with second-degree assault. He was scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Central Islip.
