WOODMERE/Woman whose home was site of drug fatalities held
A Woodmere woman whose home was the site of three fatal accidental overdose cases was ordered jailed at her arraignment yesterday morning on separate drug charges, police said.
Nicole Goldenberg, 38, of 20 Clubside Dr., was arrested Tuesday by narcotics detectives on charges of criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. Police said Goldenberg sold oxycodone near Conklin Avenue and Broadway in Woodmere on May 13. Yesterday, she was bound over on $50,000 bond or $25,000 cash bail.
Between February and April, three men who died of accidental overdoses were found at Goldenberg's Clubside Drive home, police said. They were: Brian Urick, 35, who died in a hospital a day after the discovery; Shane McCaffrey, 23; and Richard Draeger, also 23.
Goldenberg has not been accused in their deaths.
Goldenberg was arraigned yesterday before Judge Helen Voutsinas of First District Court in Hempstead on a charge of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance -- a quantity of 30 milligrams of oxycodone.
Her attorney, Joseph Giordano of Oceanside, said his client was not guilty and questioned why she was not arrested until Tuesday if, as court papers allege, the sale was May 13 at 8:05 p.m.

BRENTWOOD/Disabled child pinned in minivan after accident
A disabled child was pinned but escaped injury after a one-vehicle accident on the Long Island Expressway in the Brentwood area yesterday afternoon, the Suffolk County sheriff's office said.
The accident just after 1:30 p.m. left the child pinned in a green minivan. Neither the child nor the driver were injured, a sheriff's spokesman said.
The accident disrupted traffic between exits 53 and 55 as a medevac helicopter was called in to take the child to a hospital as a precaution, the spokesman said.
SOUTHAMPTON/Singer recuperates from attack after show
A Southampton singer-songwriter who police said was beaten by a homeless man with a crowbar following a show in July said on his blog this week he is on the mend -- though he still has no timetable for when he will be able to perform.
"Still considerable head pain, eye aches, dizziness," musician Mick Hargreaves wrote on his blog. "Some days, it's really been rugged."
Hargreaves, who had shows scheduled on Long Island and in New Jersey over the next several months, wrote all performances "are on hold pending an improvement in health."
Hargreaves, 39, suffered a fractured skull in the attack outside the Grey Horse Tavern in Bayport on July 31.
Jalaluddin Khojandi, 25, was charged with assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon and was held on $1.5 million bond or $500,000 bail.
Area musicians have organized two benefit performances for Hargreaves next month, according to a Facebook post by the New York Roots Music Association & Saturday Night Social Club.
The first is Sept. 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Stephen Talkhouse, 161 Main St., Amagansett. The second is Sept. 18 from 3 to 10 p.m. at Moose Lodge 318, 631 Pulaski Road, Greenlawn. Tickets are $20.
