A Suffolk County police officer looks over a vehicle after a 911 call from a 7-Eleven store in Mastic Beach reported a man shot early Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017. Credit: Stringer News Service

Suffolk County police said they found a man with a gunshot wound to the torso Tuesday at a 7-Eleven store in Mastic Beach.

The man had been shot elsewhere and had driven himself to the store at 210 Mastic Beach Rd., police said.

Police said they went to the store in response to a 911 call at 2:20 a.m. and took the man to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.

Police said the wound was not life-threatening.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call detectives at 631-852-8752 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.
