Amir Sitafalwalla, doctor from Manhasset, charged with sexually abusing man at ModernMD in Queens
A doctor from Manhasset was arrested last week after a 21-year-old man said he was sexually abused by him at a Queens urgent care facility.
On Aug. 14, the man reported to the NYPD that he was sexually abused by Dr. Amir Sitafalwalla during a medical appointment at ModernMD at 89-22 Jamaica Ave. in Woodhaven, police said.
According to the police report, Sitafalwalla allegedly asked the man to drop his pants, then touched his thigh and private areas and made inappropriate remarks.
Kyle Watters, Sitafalwalla's attorney, said the alleged victim reported Sitafalwalla was his physician.
On Sept. 9, Sitafalwalla, 72, was arrested and charged with third-degree sexual abuse and forcible touch-intimate parts, police said.
Watters said his client did not commit the crime and has pleaded not guilty, according to online court documents.
He confirmed that Sitafalwalla is a medical doctor employed by ModernMD and would not comment further.
Sitafalwalla is due back in court on Nov. 13.
A representative for ModernMD said the establishment does not have a comment at this time.
Sitafalwalla had previously been charged with third-degree sexual abuse related to an incident that allegedly occurred in January 2023 inside the same urgent care center, according to court documents. The case is ongoing.
