A masked gunman tried to hold up a Hicksville video game and electronics store but took off when an employee refused to hand over money, Nassau police said Tuesday.

The suspect went into GameStop on South Broadway about 9:15 p.m. Monday and locked the front door, police said.

He then ordered two employees to hand over cash, but when the store clerk rejected his demand, the gunman unlocked the door and left in a black sport utility vehicle without any proceeds, police said.

No injuries were reported and there were no customers present, police said.

The gunman appeared to be 20-25 years old, just over 6 foot tall and 210 pounds, police said. He had on a dark-colored face mask, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
