A parked minivan was set ablaze on a residential street in Massapequa Park early Saturday morning, according to Nassau County Police.

The incident unfolded at roughly 1:10 a.m. on Mayflower Avenue, when, according to a news release, two people poured a flammable liquid on the 2010 blue Dodge Caravan before setting it on fire. The pair then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, the release said.

There were no injuries reported but the minivan became engulfed in flames in front of the house of the vehicle owner, who looked out the window and saw it burning, the release said.

The Massapequa Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire, the release said.

No further information about the suspects was available.

A police investigating is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
