A Lake Ronkonkoma man was arrested Monday after he allegedly robbed a bagel store and fled the scene on a bicycle, Suffolk County Police said.

Mathew McCauley, 51 of 19 Adrian Lane, is alleged to have burglarized Mayfair Bagels at 10 Jericho Turnpike at about 4:45 a.m.

He was charged with burglary in the third degree and parole violation in connection with the incident, police said.

Fourth Precinct officers say they responded to an automatic alarm tripped from inside the business and found McCauley in the area a short time later.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 26 in First District Court in Central Islip.

Fourth Squad detectives are investigation whether McCauley has any connection to other recent burglaries in the Commack area.
