Police: Nassau man 'intentionally placed spikes' in the road near police facilities
A 59-year-old Mineola man "intentionally placed spikes in the roadway near Nassau County police facilities," damaging multiple police department vehicles from May to July, police said.
Manuel C. Reis was arrested Thursday afternoon at his home, according to police.
The spikes, which Reis is accused of deploying from May 11 to July 11, also damaged a woman's personal vehicle, police said.
Reis was arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead on charges of criminal mischief, attempted criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration. Attorney information was not available in online court records.
The case was adjourned, and Reis is scheduled to return to court next Friday.
