Nassau County police seek driver in North Massapequa fatal pedestrian crash
Nassau County police are searching for a driver who struck and killed a 55-year-old man in North Massapequa before fleeing early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred on Hicksville Road near Boundary Avenue at 2:59 a.m., according to police.
Police said the man was crossing Hicksville Road when he was struck by a vehicle that fled in an unknown direction.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A police spokesperson did not offer a description of the vehicle and said an investigation is ongoing. Police did not release the name of the victim.
