Octavian Ocasio accused of offering fake New York State inspection stickers on Letgo, police say
A Brooklyn man selling fake New York State vehicle inspection stickers is charged with falsifying business records, Nassau County police said Wednesday.
Octavian Ocasio, 44, of Wanser Avenue is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead on charges of second-degree falsifying business records and three counts of having a fictitious inspection sticker.
Undercover detectives bought a false inspection sticker from Ocasio on Tuesday at a parking lot on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook, police said.
Police said Ocasio was advertising the inspection stickers for sale at the website Letgo, and they arranged to make a purchase from him.
Ocasio was arrested without incident, police said.
