Police have released a surveillance photo of a man wanted for questioning in connection with an assault that occurred last month at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead — and they’re hoping someone out there recognizes him and calls Crime Stoppers.

The man is described by Suffolk County police and Riverhead Town police as “a person of interest” in the assault, which police said occurred at the outlet center at about 2 p.m. Aug. 3.

Details of the assault were not released.

In the surveillance photo the man being sought appears to look almost directly at the security camera.

Police asked anyone with information about the identity of the man to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.

All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
