A man was shot twice — in the leg and buttocks — in Medford on Friday morning, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The man, 23, was brought to Stony Brook hospital for treatment, according to an email from the department press office, which didn't provide his condition.

The email didn't say whether the shooter has been identified but said there had been no arrests. An earlier statement said no one was in custody. (A person can be in custody, suspected of criminality, without necessarily being under arrest.)

The shooting was on Gray Avenue at 11:10 a.m., as the man was standing outside.
