East Hampton Town police have arrested a Springs man and charged him with drug offenses as part of an ongoing investigation into cocaine and Ecstasy use and sales on the East End, police said.

Kody J. Knudsen, 28, of Hollyoak Avenue, was arrested at his home Thursday and charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, one count of second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and one count of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, East Hampton police said.

He was later arraigned on the charges in East Hampton Justice Court and was being held at the Suffolk Jail in Riverhead, police said.

It was unclear whether he had either been assigned or hired an attorney.

Police said the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Suffolk County district attorney’s office’s East End Drug Task Force, which includes law enforcement personnel from county, town, state and federal agencies.

The investigation was initiated after complaints of high vehicular and pedestrian traffic to Knudsen’s residence, police said.

East Hampton police ask anyone with information about the case to call 631-537-7575.
