Three more students were arrested and charged for their role in a brawl that forced the early closure of Hempstead High School on Monday, Nassau County police said.

The arrests bring the total number of students arrested in the incident to seven.

Hempstead police officers and Nassau police officers were sent to the school Monday to squelch a disturbance that left eight students with minor injuries, police said.

The incident forced school officials to close the school early and police showed a presence on campus Tuesday when school was back in session.
The three additional students arrested Thursday were: Rashaad Simmons, 17, and Gerhaad Simmons, 17, both of 31 Sewell St. in Hempstead; and, George Wyche, 17, of 31 Burr Ave. in Hempstead.

Police said Rashaad Simmons was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree assault, while Gerhaad Simmons and Wyche were both charged with third-degree assault. All three are scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Previously arrested for their role in the incident, police said, were four Hempstead residents: Rasan Smalls, 18, of 100 Terrace Ave., Apt. 422; Jasper Parker, 17, of 142 Fairview Blvd.; Tyshawn Brown, 18, of 71 Martin Luther King Drive, Apt. D; and, Dennis Wolfolk, Jr., 16, of 32 B Mason St.
