An Inwood man faces stolen property charges for taking items from vehicles parked in Woodmere, Nassau County police said.

Police said they spotted Justin Valentin, 19, in front of a home in Cedarhurst on Rockaway Turnpike and arrested him without incident late Friday morning.

Valentin was charged with fourth-degree and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth-degree possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said in a news release.

The charges stem from a series of thefts from cars parked on Arbuckle Avenue, Woodmere Avenue and Clubhouse Road on Friday morning, police said. Valentin had been one of two people spotted looking through car windows before the thefts, police said.

Valentin was arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead. He was held on bail of $2,000 bond or $1,000 cash. His next scheduled court appearance is Wednesday.
