Wyandanch hit-run driver injures teen, Suffolk police say
A teenage pedestrian was injured by a hit-and-run driver late Friday night in Wyandanch, Suffolk County police said.
A 911 call at 11:47 p.m. alerted authorities to the incident at Long Island Avenue and Doe Street, a police spokeswoman said. Officers found the injured boy but the vehicle had fled east on Long Island Avenue, the spokeswoman said.
First Precinct investigators are searching for the driver. No description of the vehicle was given.
