SPENDING $50,224,682, a 1.59 percent increase from the current $49,440,424.

TAX LEVY 1.59 percent increase, from $42,519,900 to $43,197,689. This is within the district’s 2.82 percent tax-cap limit, so a simple majority vote is required for approval.

TEACHER PAY / PROGRAMS Includes a 1.25 percent teacher salary increase and an average 1.65 percent step increase. Adds a full-time elementary school guidance counselor to meet new state Education Department regulations and a part-time special education teacher to meet mandates.

PROPOSITIONS

Proposition 2 authorizes the district to spend $2.075 million from a capital reserve fund for classroom, hallway and stairwell abatement and reconstruction at the Rushmore Avenue School, asphalt replacement at the Cherry Lane Elementary School playground and districtwide replacement of air conditioning units. Approval of the proposition does not affect the tax levy.
