BUDGET

SPENDING $44,101,280, a 2.32 percent increase from the current $43,100,129.

TAX LEVY 2.9 percent increase, from $23,235,914 to $23,909,755. This is within the district's 3.8 percent tax-cap limit, so a simple majority vote is required for approval.

TEACHER PAY / PROGRAMS Includes provisions for teacher salaries, but district staff said a future contract is being negotiated and no specific estimates of salary changes could be provided. The proposed budget factors in the elimination of one full-time teaching position through attrition, because of enrollment changes at the elementary level. It funds an additional teaching position at 0.6 of full-time for the foreign-language elementary school (FLES) program as well as the hiring of two full-time security guards, one for the elementary school and one for the high school.
