SPENDING $93,974,755, a 2.2 percent increase from the current $91,947,730.

TAX LEVY 1.88 percent increase, from $56,220,730 to $57,279,755. This is within the district's 2.9 percent tax-cap limit, so a simple majority vote is required for approval.

TEACHER PAY / PROGRAMS Includes a step increase of 2 percent. Adds a total of seven positions for special education, social emotional learning staff throughout the district and a full-time elementary school teacher. The proposed budget funds 1.6 positions, combining the new teacher and staff reassignment, to achieve smaller elementary classes. 

PROPOSITIONS

Proposition 2 seeks authorization to establish a capital reserve fund of $15 million, plus any accumulated interest, for a term of 10 years to finance districtwide capital improvements, including site work, construction, reconstruction, renovation and equipment for school buildings. The district said the funds will be obtained from various sources, including state aid reimbursement, cost-saving measures and unappropriated fund balances.
