BUDGET

SPENDING $25,896,085, a 2.89 percent increase from the current $25,168,016.

TAX LEVY 2.46 percent increase, from $22,782,815 to $23,342,616. The district said it applied $115,473 in state financial aid to lower the levy within the district's allowable amount under the tax cap, so approval requires a simple majority vote.

TEACHER PAY / PROGRAMS Includes a 0.7 percent salary increase and hiring of one full-time-equivalent teacher for science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM), as well as a guidance counselor who will be shared with the Remsenburg-Speonk and Quogue districts.

PROPOSITIONS

Proposition 3 seeks to establish a $500,000 capital reserve fund for future capital improvements that will be subject to voter approval in yearly budget votes. Approval of the proposition does not affect the tax levy.

Proposition 4 authorizes the district to enter into an agreement with the Westhampton Beach school district for the education of children in grades seven through 12, as provided under education law.
