Seneca Middle School briefly on lockdown after threat, cops say
A middle school in Holbrook went on lockdown Friday morning after officials were made aware of a threat alleging a student had brought a weapon to school, Suffolk County police said.
The incident occurred at Seneca Middle School in the Sachem School District at 7:50 a.m.
Police said officers responded to the scene, but determined there was no weapon.
“Seneca Middle School in Holbrook went on lockdown after an allegation was made that a student was bringing a weapon to school,” Suffolk police Assistant Commissioner Justin Meyers said in a statement. “Police responded and determined there was no weapon and the school has been reopened. Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers are investigating the incident.”
The school district did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
